Join The Ethel’s Couch-to-Fit Challenge From AARP, a free and fun exercise program to help you get in shape while connecting with other mature women on the same fitness journey.
The Couch-to-Fit Challenge is a 30-day beginner-friendly program that requires only 10 minutes of exercise a day.
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t exercised in years or if you’re a yo-yo exerciser, this challenge will allow you to skip the gym and build healthy habits from the comfort of your home. By joining the challenge, you’ll enjoy:
Weekly emails that keep you inspired and motivated
A welcoming community of like-minded mature women also seeking to get fit
Access to daily videos curated by exercise science experts to help you improve your strength, cardio, balance and flexibility
The chance to reap the rewards of regular movement by committing to just 10 minutes of exercise a day
And if you’re an AARP member, you can even earn AARP Rewards points for completing the videos
Join with your free aarp.org account — no AARP membership needed. Starting September 1, you’ll receive weekly challenge emails and access to the Challenge Hub.
Join the private Ethel Challenge Facebook Group to share progress, find support and enjoy conversations with women as eager as you to get fit.
Every Sunday morning, we’ll send an email with your video schedule and encouragement straight to your inbox.
Commit to just 10 minutes a day while completing routines led by notable names such as Denise Austin and Kathy Smith. Video routines are designed for home use and include modifications, allowing you to choose seated or standing versions of the exercises. Even the exercise-averse can do them! Each video walks you through a simple routine to help make you stronger and become more flexible and healthier. And each video you complete earns AARP members AARP Rewards points you can redeem for gift cards and other perks.
Even small amounts of regular exercise can help you manage your weight, feel better both mentally and physically, enjoy more energy and, perhaps best of all, add years to your life.
Exercise helps prevent or manage a wide range of health-related problems, including high blood pressure, diabetes and arthritis.
Getting fit amid a community of supportive women will dramatically boost your chances of succeeding. Cheering one another on also helps to ease social isolation while providing built-in accountability. And camaraderie transforms everyday challenges into opportunities for bonding.
